Playground/Area Installer
Grounds and Cleaning services provide an essential service in ensuring the County delivers its aspirations of providing an environment which is safe, clean and sustainable. Playground operatives, either working individually or as a team, will maintain public open spaces, highway verges, highways, planting, parks, cemeteries, schools and contracted sites. They will also undertake all aspects of Playground Installation, repairs inspection and maintenance on a external and internal basis, hard landscaping including; installing footpaths, benches, litter bins, fencing and stone work etc.
This will help provide a quality green and sustainable environment.
The majority of the time the post holder will be undertaking Play installation related activities throughout Monmouthshire and South Wales on an internal and external contract basis. The post holder will also be required to have an excellent knowledge and insight of all aspects of Grounds Maintenance and Hard landscaping.
The role will support and encourage other team members whilst they undertake a wide and varied delivery of play are installation, inspection and maintenance along with grounds related activities inclusive of, but not restricted to: Horticultural works, Landscaping hard and soft, and all related activities.
Whilst in the role, the Playground installer will be required to work with other colleagues within our Grounds teams, the post holder would ensure that all appropriate introductions, instructions, safe working practices and risk assessments were made available.
In addition, the post holder must be able to demonstrate the following skills:
Leadership, be able to give instruction and interpretation, Teamwork, work closely within a team and communication, working closely with the public.
