Behind the single storey building in the car park at County Hall, Usk is an area of land that has been transformed from an un-loved overgrown wilderness into an area complete with an apiary, pollinator garden areas, refurbished green house and 9 raised community food growing beds. The transformation came about because of a vision and a lot of hard work from colleagues in MCC and some very welcome Welsh Government Nature Funding.
We will be working in partnership with Gwent Bee Keepers, My Day My Life projects from Abergavenny and Monmouth plus Mencap Chepstow and all the gardening volunteers from MCC – we would like to know if anyone else would like to work on this area, planting, growing, weeding and keeping the ethos of organic gardening methods to help provide habitats and food for all pollinators.
