Where we work
Our young carers service works throughout the county, in schools and community settings; and we provide our support all year round.
How we can help
A young carer is someone under the age of 18 years old who cares for a family member who, due to illness, disability, or a mental health condition, cannot cope without their support. The types of support that we can offer a young person will depend on whether they have been formally referred to us or whether they have met our team as part of our awareness raising school and community-based activities. It is important to note that to be entitled to all the support options below requires a formal referral and assessment into our service:
- Receiving the twice yearly newsletter.
- Invites to social and leisure activities.
- 1:1 support.
- Group support.
- Invites to participate in the young carer’s forum.
- Information and signposting to grants and other young carer entitlements.

the last 6 years. The best part of my job is providing activities and much
needed respite to the young carers. If you see us in your school come over
and say hi and we can tell you a bit more about the service and what we
can provide for you. A bit about me – I love live music and enjoy spending
my weekends getting outdoors especially on the beach
