Former leader of Newport City Council, Jane Mudd, has been elected as the new Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent.
Ms Mudd, representing the Welsh Labour Party, was elected with 28,476 votes.
This result means Labour retains the PCC role in Gwent.
Ms Mudd beat competition from three other candidates, Hannah Elizabeth Jarvis (Welsh Conservatives), Mike Hamilton (Welsh Liberal Democrats) and Donna Cushing (Plaid Cymru), who received 21,919, 9,864 and 8,076 votes respectively.

Turnout across Gwent was 15.63%, which equates to 69,124 votes cast out of an electorate of 442,154.
In Monmouthshire, the turnout percentage was 21.2%.
In terms of spoiled ballots in Monmouthshire, there were a total of 181.
