SWFRS, together with multi-agency partners (Gwent Police/NRW/MCC/DC), are continuing to respond to significant flooding around Monmouth Leisure Centre and Old Dixton Road. 

Although the River Wye in Monmouth peaked overnight and is falling, an ongoing operational response pumping water away from the area will continue until levels drop to a safe level. There is an emergency services presence in the area who are facilitating access/egress for residents in Old Dixton Road as necessary.

Partners are confident that the situation will improve as we move into the evening of the 5 January and a clean up operation will begin as soon as conditions allow.
