Monmouthshire County Council will begin refurbishing the Welsh Street toilets in Chepstow on 24 March 2025.
The project is anticipated to take about five weeks to complete.
While the men’s and women’s toilets are being refurbished, the accessible toilets will remain available to everyone. At the end of the scheduled program, work will then take place to refurbish the accessible toilets.
Public toilets can be found at the Tourist Information Centre. Additionally, there is one accessible public toilet and baby changing facility available at Chepstow Library.
Due to ongoing work, a limited number of parking spaces will be closed to the public.
Monmouthshire County Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development, Cllr Paul Griffiths, said: “We appreciate that the refurbishment work will be an inconvenience in the short term for users of the car park and surrounding areas. However, this work will ultimately create a better facility for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation during this time.
“This investment has been led by the Transforming Chepstow Delivery Group which is a partnership between the Town Council and County Council both of which work together in the provision of toilets in the town, an essential assets for a thriving town.”
This project is in partnership with Chepstow Town Council and is funded through the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns Placemaking Grant Programme.
