Monmouthshire County Council’s Children’s Services & the Community Development Team, in partnership with local comprehensive schools, Papyrus and Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO), are joining forces to run a series of engagement events across Monmouthshire focusing on young people and their families.

The events will showcase what is going on in local communities and provide information on support services for children, young people, and families. They will also provide a forum for conversations about what matters to children, young people, and families.

At the event, organisations and agencies will provide information and expert knowledge on youth support, family support, finance/cost of living pressures, housing, being a carer/unpaid carer, disabilities and additional needs and advocacy, among many others!

As part of the events, Papyrus, a national charity for the prevention of youth suicide, will provide an introduction to their work in reducing the number of young people who take their own lives by shattering the stigma surrounding suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress. During the events, they’ll talk about their work supporting young people and share information about their HOPELINE247, a 24-hour helpline dedicated to supporting young people.
