High winds and heavy rainfall impacted Monmouthshire over the weekend.
The River Usk and River Monnow rose rapidly resulting in Flood Warnings. Frontline teams helped communities by delivering sand bags on Sunday night (20th Feb) around Usk as well as deploying some pumps. Some flooded roads were closed to keep people safe. Teams worked around the clock removing fallen trees.
All services will be operating today. All Monmouthshire County Council controlled roads are currently open.
Strong winds and showers are forecast for this week. River levels – particularly on the River Wye will be continually monitored.
